Hi Again, A lot has been happening in la case de McLain as of late. Oscar is 3 months old and although he isn't rolling over he spends of lot of time giggling. Kirstin at 20 months is talking up a storm and getting into everything the way only toddlers can. She loves to help out especially when it's not really helpful. Sky turns 9 this month. She is really excited about her upcomming birthday. Rochester is still taking guitar lessons and has started doing meals on weheels with his grandfather on tuesday mornings. Cailtyn is doing fabulous at school but is still wants to homeschool. And Jake. . . well Jake's a 16 year old with a fancy new hairdo and guitar lessons.
Colin and I are working and busting our butts keeping up with everything which is why most people think we are a little nuts when we talk about pulling the girls out of school to homeschool everyone. Our main reason is health. My health has taken a severe beating since the school year started. Up until this fall I didn't know it was possible to have 4 distinctly different illnesses at the same time. I blame this revelation on the public school fantastic spread and share germ facility. Also I think homeschooling will flow with our circadian rythms and lifestyles better. Opening up more time as a family and hopefully curing some of our time constraint issues.
We've been thinking over this homeschooling thing for a long time and today while talking with the social worker I realized that the only thing that is stopping us from doing it is us. We are so afraid of messing it up that we aren't even trying, even tho our previous experience with homeschooling has been amazing and we've already drawn the line that if we can't homeschool we can't keep the kids. So no more being paralized by fear. time to jump off that cliff and hope the parachutte is packed properly. |

CONGRATS! To my sister who had a beautiful baby girl yesterday morning. The gorgous new niece weighs ten pounds and is 22 inches long. I can't wait to meet her! In other news my pregnancy is going fantastic, according to an ultrasound done at mayo last week I'm going to have a happy healthy little boy. Rochester is absolutley thrilled at the prospect of having his very own little brother. Speaking of Rochester. He took his annual exams for homeschooling and found out that his grade equilancey is 7. We are all very proud of his achievements in home schooling. Well off to finish my fun but hectic day. Have a good one. |

For those of you not in the know as of yet, Colin and I are very seriously considering adopting three little girls. The opportunity was dropping in our laps and after some intense discussions and a lot of consideration we have decided to go for it. The are aged 10, 7 and 12 months. They are all adorable and helpful and so far I have enjoyed there visits immensely. So immensely in fact that when I woke up this morning and they weren’t here the house felt empty and I felt like they were really missing.
For everyone who is thinking that we are absolutely nuts for going from one kid to five in the next six months, I’d have to agree, but then being considered insane has never stopped me much. Our main concerns are how to make it work financially and the physical toll of having such a large family to care for amidst a high risk pregnancy. We have contingency plans and a lead on a really good nanny.
Know anyone in the Brainerd area hiring handsome charming well educated men for more pay than is reasonable?

I went to mayo last week. Found out my kindey is doing better than it ever has before. my creatine is at .8. In fact all my blood tests looked better than normal. It was really quite exhillerating to hear that. The ultrasound went well too with a happy healthy baby wiggling around for the camera. I'm already twelve weeks and doing well. Because the kidney is responding so well to the pregnancy it is likley I will have fewer complications with the pregnancy. I'm really hoping this is the case:D So while everything is happy and healthy I'm still tired and sore. but all worth it. |

So after a day playing compair all the political canidates, Rochester and Colin and I went to the caucus. There were over 1000 people. A splendid time was had by most. I was suprised to find I heart Hukabee. but I went to the democratic caucus anyway. And although the nation was divided between Clinton and Obama, our little county voted a full 2 to 1 against Monica Lewinksi's ex-boyfriend's wife for president. Happy Madi Gras to all. On this Fat tuesday I've decided to give up stress for lent. Not that I won't still have tons to accomplish, I'll just refuse to feel any stress about any of it. I guess that means I should be overindulging in stress tonight. . . but I'm thinking perhaps I'll just induldge in chocolate and video games instead :D |
